Electronics and Communications Engineering

Electrics and Electronics are branches of science integrated with high technology, having a direct effect on daily life. Having organic relations with other science and technology fields and a wide range of application areas, Electrics and Electronics is a driving force for many innovations and inventions. Electrics and Electronics form the basis of subjects such as control-command, automation, communication, data storage, or transfer. Mobile telecommunication, calculations and e-commerce applications are also among the main subjects of these scientific branches. In addition, the role of electrics and electronics is crucial in defense industry.

Electrics and Electronics are also the most significant elements in the development and effective use of medical devices. In this way, modern diagnosis and treatment methods give more satisfactory and reliable results. In many industrial fields, it is almost impossible to produce without automation and robots. The hardware essentials of robotics and automation technologies are mainly the application fields of electronics.

Electrics and Electronics are among the fields which provide the widest range of career choices. Our country’s increasing population, its potential for development and European Union membership process will increase available employment opportunities. Electrical and Electronics engineers can work in companies providing communication services (such as Türk Telekom, Telsim, Turkcell, internet service providers, etc.), computer development, computer services and information technologies (such as Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Oracle), equipment production for defense industry (such as Aselsan, Alcatel), durable goods production (such as Arçelik, Beko, Profilo, Vestel) and in many small companies producing machinery for manufacturing companies. Electrical and Electronics engineers are needed for the setting and maintenance of the devices used in computer networks.

On the other hand, today, electronic systems are used in almost every industrial sector such as automotive, petrochemical, medical, pharmaceutical, or textile industries. For a continuous production, the maintenance and control of these systems need to be carried out by electrical and electronics engineers. Considering the direction of technological developments, the need for electrical and electronics engineers in such industries will be even greater.
