Computer Engineering
Today, computers, which have become an indispensable part of our lives, are penetrating into every field from manufacturing to marketing, from product design to sale. As a result of this increase in the common use of computers, the need for qualified labor force in the field has increased as well. Computer engineering is a branch which develops computer systems and produces relevant technology by working on these systems in theory.
The department of computer engineering aims to train students in the structures of computer systems, their operation, design and use to meet the increase in demand. The purpose is to train modern and inquisitive computer engineers keeping up with developments in technology, who know the power of knowledge and its sharing, use that knowledge efficiently and help spread the information and technology.
This branch of engineering is still one of the most popular professions that students prefer to study. The purpose of this program is to train computer engineers, who are qualified enough to work in software and hardware projects and develop skills in Research and Development. Since we mainly focus on four subjects; theory (mathematical fundamentals and algorithms), hardware, system and computer networks, and software engineering, courses are arranged based on these. The students will have the chance to choose the subject they will major in through technical elective courses.
Engineers, who will graduate from this program, will have been equipped with theoretical fundamentals of computer engineering, the knowledge and experience about the system engineering, and the skills to exercise software engineering.
Graduates will have the opportunity to be employed as system analysts, system engineers, software engineers, web designers, IT specialists, and application programmer almost in every enterprise and institution. They will also get the chance to work as directors in computing services of software producing enterprises, data managers, computer aided industrial design and R&D engineers.
Computer Engineers, who will graduate from the program, will have contemporary knowledge of hardware, system and computer networks in any industrial branch in which computers are used, designing and implementing projects about software engineering in any scale, and effectuating test and integration processes successfully. They will significantly contribute to the professional workforce our country is in need of. Graduates will be employed as software engineers in companies which produce major software projects, research and development staff or system/ software engineers in enterprises which deal with computer networks, research and development and hardware engineers in companies which produce electronic devices and defense industry.
