The aim of our university is to contribute to the developments in the fields of science and technology and to train scientists who will assist to those developments with their theoretical and practical studies.

Planned and disciplined academic studies and their applications, all around Turkey, are the only ways of reaching to the contemporary civilization standards which Ataturk showed as target for our country.

Our primary purpose is to train a youth who is adherent of Ataturk’s policy, broad minded, scientific and free-thinking, respectful both to our cultural and humanitarian values and to the human rights and environment.

We offer our students not only a wide knowledge, talent, action and general culture in their own professional fields, but also a good language knowledge over global standards, to enable them to follow up global developments in their specialization areas.

Our research target is to produce and develop scientific and technological knowledge and present it to the service of the humanity. Exploring and spreading new technologies which contribute to the effective usage of the natural resources and economical development, constitutes the research conception of Izmir University.
