Undergraduate Programmes

On the path to Turkey’s full membership to European Union, the importance of using English functionally cannot be ignored due to raising interest on learning a foreign language and the need for communication in academic or social settings, since English is regarded as the common language in international platforms. In the light of the above, the aim of foreign language education is to develop students’ academic reading, writing and speaking skills and encourage them to be successful by using these skills for their future professional lives. Furthermore, the programme aims to help students gain these skills in a learning environment that promotes an understanding of a student-centered, creative and critical way of thinking instead of traditional teaching methods.

Our goal is to provide our students with the best education and foreign language skills which will contribute to their professional life when they graduate. Furthermore, regarding Turkey’s EU membership process and the economic and international relations, our university offers elective courses such as German, French, and Italian so as to encourage them to express their opinions on these issues. As well as the other courses, methods and techniques promoting student centered learning and increasing student autonomy are primary in foreign language learning.
