Hospitality Management

 

      The aim of Hospitality Management Programme is to meet the needs of qualified staff in tourism industry, which has a crucial role in Turkish economy by educating qualified employee. Additionally, the programme intends to contribute to this sector with tourism staff having both theoretical and practical experience. The graduates of this department can serve as advisors on basic products and services. Furthermore, they will provide human resources equipped with administration, marketing, foreign language and information technologies.

 

      In the first year of the programme, the students will take courses in management, economics, marketing, administration and information technologies. In second year, they will have gained executive skills in accounting and various related subjects. In order to follow how successful the aims of the program are, useful and guiding information will be presented by seminars and term projects of the students and internship studies in Tourism Institutions. Besides, the levels of the students’ adaptation and success in professional fields after graduation will help in determining the structure of the programme in the future.

 

The requirements for graduation

 

      The students of Hospitality Management Programme will have to take 30 courses with 88 credits from the curriculum in order to graduate from the programme. In addition, they are supposed to complete a 45 day-internship related to their profession successfully in the first and second year of the undergraduate programme.

 

Opportunities of Internship and Practice

 

       With the observation of academic members, a 45 day-internship is required in the second year. Internship is obligatory in order to graduate from the programme.
